Mr Mike A Antonelli,( Flightmasters president)

AMA is excited to announce that we have been granted a National Authorization allowing our members at AMA club sites in Class G airspace to operate above 400 feet above ground level (AGL) for routine, day-to-day activities. Your flying site, Flight Master of Elkhart County - US 20, has been granted a 700 foot altitude limit.

This is an exciting step toward easing restrictions for our members who enjoy this great hobby. As we march forward, AMA will continue to work with Congress and the FAA to further ensure that our members across the country can enjoy the freedom of flight.

You may view the National Authorization here. Please note that operations above 400 feet in Class G airspace require that your AMA club retains this copy of the 2025-CBO-SPL001 National Authorization, as well as meet the outlined criteria within the Authorization. Club officers should make sure to keep a copy of the authorization on file with the club’s records. Additionally, AMA will be publishing an FAQ guide shortly to address questions and/or concerns members may have regarding the authorization.

Club officers can access their current site listings here. If you have questions don’t hesitate to reach out at amagov@modelaircraft.org or (765) 287-1256.
Best regards,

Mother Nature

The Flightmasters aeronauts are going to have Wild Flowers this season

at Zook field

Update: The wild flowers are taking off and should be fabulous

rain and warm weather  are our friends this spring.

Sunday March23

Yes ACRES of wild flowers!! On March 10 Denny Overhosler and crew made plans to plant native Indiana wild flower seeds, (incorperated with rye grass),  just reported from our field that it is not muddy but very stable. Every day now it will get better.

"I think we could seed wild flowers this week. The extremely fine seed is mixed with ryegrass to facilitate the even  spreading of the seed and as an added bonus protect the  the flowering plants from being compromised in their first year of growth." Says Overhosler, "I'll be contacting Mike MaHoffa from Pheasants Forever to see when he might be available,"

While inspecting the field we discovered 3 ground hog holes east of the north side of our Matt that will cause damage to the Ford if hit. I will make sure they are flagged until they are filled in.  Rumor has it that Flightmasters will send bouquets to the evicted groundhogs upon reception of their new addresses.
